A final wave of creatures appeared on the far side of the opening. The team saw that the creatures were gathering for a mass crossing. Maya decided they had to begin the shutdown before the creatures broke fully into Earth.
Rafael stayed behind to hold the line against any creatures that got through during the shutdown. Nina activated the reverse field while Maya watched the black hole collapse. The chamber shook as the gate began to fail.
